Espresso: An Extreme Definition


A quality espresso, when consumed, should have a pleasant, not bitter, aftertaste, lingering on the palate for roughly 10 minutes, curling into almost nutty flavour.

Brewed espresso contains over six hundred chemical components: sugars, caffeine, proteins in solution, emolsion of coffee oils, colloids and coffee particles in suspension with tiny gas bubbles.

It takes approximately forty-two coffee beans to make one average size serving of espresso!
